NYC's Most Ticketed Roads, Ranked

Five corridors feed New York's ticket machine like nothing else. The King's office defends drivers on all of them, every week. These are the power rankings.

Ranked by royal decree of the Traffic-King. Argue in the group chat, not in court.

1reigning

Cross-Bronx Expressway

"The undisputed heavyweight. The most-ticketed interstate stretch in New York State."

Permanent congestion, permanent work zones, doubled work-zone fines, and enforcement that never sleeps. If your ticket says I-95 in the Bronx, you're in the kingdom's bloodiest arena.

2contender

Belt Parkway

"Bay Ridge to JFK — the most-ticketed parkway in New York."

Speed cameras, short merges, and a speed limit that feels theoretical at 6am. The Belt hands out summonses like flyers outside a bodega.

3dangerous

Brooklyn-Queens Expressway

"Crumbling, cramped, and crawling with enforcement."

Work zones with doubled fines, lane shifts that change weekly, and radar wherever the BQE narrows. Half of Brooklyn has a BQE story; too many end with a court date.

4sneaky

FDR Drive

"Manhattan's speed trap with a river view."

A 40 mph limit most drivers never notice, cameras in the school zones feeding it, and no shoulder to talk your way out on. The FDR looks fast and bills you for it.

5relentless

Long Island Expressway

"The world's longest parking lot, until it isn't."

The LIE swings between gridlock and open road, and troopers know exactly where drivers make up the time. Queens through Suffolk, the summonses flow.

Dishonorable mentions: the camera brigade

School-zone speed cameras. 24/6 across the five boroughs, $50 a letter, no points but real money. How to fight one →
Red-light cameras. The yellow was shorter than you think. How to fight one →
Bus-lane cameras. One wrong merge near a bus lane and the city mails you a bill. How to fight one →
